The Construction Schedule:
(updated August 30, 2007)

Construction is Well Under Way
The construction work for the first 2,700 feet is well under way.  The contractor, KLB Construction of Mukilteo, has completed the new access roads and several hundred feet of the new sewer line.  Placement of the new sewer pipes is being accomplished in 600 foot segments.  Each segment takes KLB about six working days to complete.

Another 600 foot segment will begin construction on August 30th, followed by another beginning September 4th.  These 600 foot segments of work will continue until all of the new Segment 1 sewer lines are in the ground.

Stream Restoration Work in Segment 1 is planned to begin the first week in September.  In this hase of the project, the many trees and root balls seen stored around the project site will be used to reconstruct the stream environment.  This work is being done under the careful direction of experienced fisheries experts in conjunction with the State Dept. of Fish and Wildlife.  This work will begin in those segments of the gulch that have already been completed with the new pipelines.

Geotechnical Drilling
We are conducting several drilling operations in the gulch to confirm the sub-surface soil conditions for the lower portions of the gulch. In September we will be flying a drill rig in using a helicopter. This will be limited to only a few days during the month. The information from this work will aid in selecting the best means and methods for constructing Segment Three down to the bridge entering the wastewater treatment plant.
